Father’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the Fatherhood of God. Unless we have a deeply rooted revelation of this reality, our identity will be weak, and we will suffer with a skewed view of God. It is only in the understanding of our “sonship” that we will be able to enjoy the fulness of the blessing that our heavenly Father wants to bring to us as His dearly beloved children!

Today is Pentecost Sunday, and while our Jewish friends celebrate "The Feast of Weeks", Christians celebrate the outpouring of God’s Spirit on the day of Pentecost, when the church of Jesus Christ was born. Today’s message focuses on the PRIORITY of the Pentecost, not as a feast to be observed, but as an experience to be had.

In this 4^th Beatitude, we learn what the “righteousness” is that we are to hunger and thirst for in our lives, both in relationship to God,  and also in relationship with one another.  The promised reward is living a blessed and blissful life, as well as a fulfilled and deeply satisfied life.

In the 3^rd beatitude we learn what meekness is and what it is not. As Christ’s disciples,  we are challenged to model our lives after the example of Christ who said, “Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly”.

As we launch Holy Week, our meditation today is on the obsession of the Apostle Paul.  Though he had much for which he could boast, he found only ONE THING worthy, and that was the CROSS.  Today’s message focuses on the priority and importance of glorying only in the CROSS,  remembering the price that was paid for our salvation and enjoying the blessings that are ours as a result of Christ’s sacrifice.
